Cell Phones for Soldiers - Final Push for 2009
We are still collecting your old cell phones for our Cell Phones for Soldiers collection drive. Are you getting a new cell phone for Christmas? Do you have an old cell phone taking up valuable space in your desk drawer? We will accept any and all old cell phones at our drop-off point at the County Office Building at 124 W. Elm St. in Graham. Other drop-off points include the AT&T Store at Alamance Crossing and Liberty Tax Service locations.
The Cell Phones for Soldiers program takes these phones, gives them to a recycler in exchange for money which is used to purchase long-distance calling cards for soldiers serving overseas.
So far, Alamance County residents have been extremely generous with their old cell phones, and we are extremely grateful to those residents who have donated and who will donate for this excellent cause.
If you aren't able to drop off your old cell phones in 2009, don't worry - Alamance County's main offices will remain a drop-off point into 2010, as will the other locations mentioned earlier.
