Ongoing Children’s Programs
Baby Fun Time
For children 0 to 23 months and their caregivers.
Time for Twos or Toddler Time
Children are introduced to a variety of book related experiences including stories, songs and movement activities. Each child must be accompanied by an adult during the program.
Storytime offers your 3-5 year old a variety of book related experiences featuring stories, songs, fingerplays and more. It introduces your child to group experiences, helps your child develop listening skills and fosters independent learning.
Critters and Creatures
Critters and Creatures is a natural history/zoology enthusiasts’ club for young people. Second grade and older.
Family Fun Time
Drop in and play board games or build your own world with building blocks. Fun for the whole family!
Movin' and Groovin'
Fitness program for kids and parents of all ages. Kids and parents are invited for to “rock your way into fitness” at the library. Presented by YMCA fitness instructor, Christy Fox.
Museum of Natural Science Program—Sssnakes!
Learn all about these slithery sensations up-close. Examine a number of living nonvenomous snakes and discover how to study snakes safely. Registration is required.
Science of Folk Toys
Join us for a fun program and learn about the science of folk toys! Make a friction climber and an oscillating woodpecker. For ages 6 and up.
Alamance Makers Guild is coming to May Memorial Library to help folks of all ages who want to get their hands dirty making something. This event will be free to the public, and is suitable for budding makers of all ages, interests, and abilities.

July 10: Defying Gravity –Make a CD hovercraft and find ways to defy gravity.
July 17: It’s Alive! Mix together a few simple ingredients and watch them GROW.
July 24: Mad Science of the Piedmont – Eye-popping science demonstrations with a Mad Scientist

June 18th: Rags to Riches presents: Hansel and Gretel: The Science of Tricking a Witch! @ The Mebane Arts and Community Center. Come kick off Summer Reading with HIGH-ENGERY storytelling from this acclaimed children’s theatre company!
June 25th: The Sound of Science! Join the Mebane Mad Scientists for an interactive exploration of sounds, from screechy to sublime!
July 2nd: Grossology! Explore the grossest of the gross biological facts with the Mebane Mad Scientists!
July 9th: Casey’s Laugh and Learn presents- The Science of Energy! @ The Mebane Arts and Community Center: Join us for this electrifying program! Sparks will fly!
July 16th: The N.C. Museum of Natural Sciences presents- Reptiles and Amphibians!
Learn all about these two fascinating animal groups! Many living examples will be on hand for you to meet!
July 23rd: Use the Force! Join the Mebane Mad Scientists for a scientific journey into the world of physics!
North Park Mondays at 3:30 pm
Join us for a terrific program designed to get children excited about reading. For Ages 3 to 12.
The Grand Finale to Summer Reading Program will take place at Mayco Bigelow Community Center on Sunday, July 27th from 2-5. Stop by to meet CWF wrestlers and see them in action in the ring. There will also be an appearance by the Gymnastics Center Tumble Bus!
