Spring Renewal

As I write this the snow is melting, the daylight hours are getting longer and the weather is getting warmer.  I was able to sit on my back porch and enjoy a good book and some sunshine yesterday.  There’s nothing like a hint of Spring to give you a sense of renewal.

Your libraries are going through a renewal.  Over the next several months, staff will meet with community members to get a sense of what services they would like the Library to provide.  We are looking at our mission and our values to put together goals that will ensure that we are meeting the needs of Alamance County.  While we strive to bring everyone the best service possible, we also need to be sure that we make an impact in citizen’s lives.  Libraries are about so much more than checking out books and movies!   Libraries are places to learn new skills, search for jobs, access the world of information, oh, and find something good to read!  We introduce people to new authors, new music, and new ideas.

We are seeking your input as to how your libraries can better serve you and our community.  Please come out to share your ideas with us so that we can ensure that Alamance County Public Libraries reflects your needs and your community.  I look forward to hearing from you!
