Exercise Your Mind This Summer!

Exercise your mind this summer!

Summer Reading at the library isn’t just for kids! This summer, join us for our Adult Summer Reading program and exercise your mind. Our 6 week program runs from June 20th through August 1st. During this time the library will be partnering with local businesses and organizations throughout Alamance County.

Here is how you can join in the fun:

  • Visit any of our participating businesses and pick up a free raffle ticket from our display.
  • Bring your ticket to any Alamance County Library location. While you are here, make sure to check out our displays of books inspired by our local business partners.
  • Check out any item to turn in your ticket. If you don’t have a library card, just bring your photo ID and proof of address to get signed up!
  • Each ticket you turn in will count as an entry into our gift basket raffle at the end of the summer.

We will also have a series of free programs throughout the summer designed to teach you some fun new ways to stay active. To kick off the program, join us for Swing Into Summer at the May Memorial Library in Burlington on June 17th from 7-9 p.m. Anita Isley and David Camp of the Piedmont Swing Dance Society will lead an introductory swing dance lesson, followed by an open dance. We are also thrilled to have Alamance Wellness Studios visiting for three yoga programs. The Graham Library will have Beginner Yoga on Saturday, June 18th at 2 p.m. The Mebane Library will have Chair Yoga on Monday July 25th at 9:30 a.m. The May Memorial Library will have Beginner Yoga on Saturday, August 27th at 2 p.m. Also our annual Mystery Night will take place on Friday and Saturday, July 29 and 30 at 7:00 p.m.  Free tickets are available July 1.  Mebane will also be hosting a Get Cultured with Fermented Foods & Drinks on Monday, June 20th at 6:00 p.m. You don’t have to attend one of these programs to participate in the giveaway, but we hope you will!  For more information about additional summer reading programs for teens, adults or children, please visit our website at www.alamancelibraries.org.

It’s that easy! We hope you will be inspired to visit a new place, learn about a new topic, or discover a great new book.
