Training

The Library is committed to keeping employees up to date with current trends and technologies as an important part of being able to provide reliable and accurate information to patrons and the community. Training opportunities are available for all employees through virtual learning, classroom courses, conferences and seminars. Supervisors are encouraged to get to know staffs’ individual interests and career goals and keep those in mind when planning training opportunities.

Alamance County offers a full range of benefits to full-time employees including health, life, dental, and vision insurance; annual leave (vacation), sick leave, and paid holidays; an Employee Assistance Program; required participation in the North Carolina State Retirement system and voluntary participation in a 401(k) plan with a county match.

Part-time employees have the opportunity to purchase health insurance through the county. Part-time staff are required to participate in the State Retirement plan and may choose to participate in the 401(k) program.

Volunteering at ACPL

Alamance County Public Libraries welcomes volunteers throughout the year for both short term and long-term projects that vary in their nature, location and purpose.  All volunteers are required to complete a volunteer application and background check.  ACPL also welcomes persons needing to complete community services hours depending on the offense.  Each library may use volunteers for different individual projects, please be sure to read the volunteer policy and complete the volunteer application at the specific location you wish to complete your volunteer or community service hours.
