Current StoryWalks in Alamance County
The StoryWalk Project is underway in Alamance County thanks to members of the Education Division of Community Council. There are many opportunities to become involved with this exciting initiative, such as: a Host, a Sponsor, and/or a Volunteer.
A Host provides the venue (land) for the StoryWalk to be installed and helps to make sure the process goes smoothly and makes a commitment to host.
A Sponsor provides the financial capital to cover the cost of the materials, such as: posts, cement, signage etc., it has been estimated to cost $5,000-$6,000 per site (donations may be made to United Way of Alamance County). The Sponsor will be recognized (via name or logo on signage) at each site.
A Volunteer (may be a group or individual) that provides a helping hand with installation, beautification, and on-going support to ensure the StoryWalk is always looking its best!
*Books for each StoryWalk will be provided by Alamance County Public Libraries and will be periodically rotated.
